We also have an IRC java applet that will allow you to access the server without a program - the java applet will automatically connect you to the Funcom server and Eminence guild channel.
If the java applet isn't working for you, here's some troubleshooting tips that could possibly fix the problem:

Second, make sure Java is enabled on your browser and working correctly.
